Scottsbluff Police arrest two on drug charges

Scottsbluff Police seized about about 90 grams of methamphetamine while arresting a Scottsbluff man on two warrants Monday night.
Jerry L. Gorisek, 38, of Scottsbluff, and Ronnie Prickett, 28, of Scottsbluff, face five felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute after being charged Tuesday in Scotts Bluff County Court. Gorisek also faces felony charges of possession of a firearm while in violation of drug offenses, felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to an arrest affidavit, police had obtained warrants against Gorisek on Monday on charges of forgery and theft by shoplifting. At about 11:47 p.m., an officer observed Gorisek driving a vehicle and stopped his car in the 800 block of East 15th. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Prickett.
The officer asked Gorisek to exit the vehicle and searched Gorisek after placing him under arrest. The officer found two unused plastic baggies and a total of $682 in Gorisek’s pockets. The officer also found a folded receipt that appeared to have a small quantity of methamphetamine wrapped in it.
Another officer arrived at the scene and noticed a glass pipe on the center console of the vehicle. Officers also searched Prickett and searched the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun. They also searched a backpack that was found in the vehicle. Officers found baggies that appeared to contain methamphetamine, a pocket digital scale, small notebook that appeared to be used to document drug transactions and drug paraphernalia. Officers also found suspected marijuana, cocaine and baggies containing prescription medications. Officers seized about 25 grams of cocaine and 275 grams of marijuana.
In addition, three rifles were found in a search of the vehicle’s trunk.
Gorisek is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Corrections Center. Prickett’s status could not be confirmed as of press time.
