WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump struck back Monday at film director Spike Lee, accusing him of delivering a "racist hit" during an Oscar acceptance speech in which Lee referenced the history of U.S. slavery and urged people to vote in the 2020 elections.

CHADRON — There will be two new starters in the Chadron State Eagles’ offensive line this fall and only one of the backups has collegiate experience. So, head coach Jay Long has his fingers crossed that the veterans remain healthy. If that happens, he thinks the unit that he oversees will fare well.

The fact that three starters are returning helps brighten the picture. Both senior Matt Barden of Aurora, Colo., the left guard and junior Jake Geil of Casper Kelly Walsh at center will be starting for the third year.

Another junior, Travis Rosma of Burns, Wyo., was the starting right tackle a year ago. He moved to the left side in the spring in what seems to be a smooth transition.

The coach, Logan Masters, arrived with outstanding credentials and says he’s excited about his group’s potential. He believes their effort and athleticism will offset their lack of experience.

“They are coachable and they play their tails off,” Masters said. “They give every ounce of energy they possess. They all play hard and want to make things happen.”
